What To Expect

At the initial treatment session, the physiotherapist will take a detailed account of the problem, followed by a physical examination in order to make a clinical diagnosis. The most appropriate treatment will be discussed and given at your first appointment. You will be advised on the estimated recovery time and self-management for a speedy return to full fitness.

Our Physiotherapists

The physiotherapist plays a vital role in healing, pain relief and rehabilitation following fractures, surgery, muscle, tendon, ligament and joint injuries. The treatment aims to correct and stimulate the body’s own natural healing processes without the use of medication.

At Hyde Physio Clinic we firmly believe that education and advice on how to manage the condition are fundamental to successful treatment.  By focusing on these aspects, we aim to keep the number of treatment sessions to a minimum.

Accupuncture

Our fully qualified physiotherapists use acupuncture and dry needling to help relieve pain and muscle spasm . The benefits include relief of pain, reduced muscular tension and increased mobility.

Acupuncture will often be used in conjunction with other physiotherapy treatments for sports injuries, back and neck pain and other painful soft tissue injuries.

Electrotherapy

Our fully qualified physiotherapists use ultrasound to assist the body’s own natural healing mechanisms. The benefits are increased blood flow to assist the body’s own inflammatory processes.
Diagnostic ultra sound is used to assist with biofeedback to the patient. This ensures that the deep transverse abdominal muscles are contracting which is important in the rehabilitation of back and pelvic conditions.

This is used in conjunction with rehabilitation and exercise to assist correct movement and postural alignment.

Sports Injuries

The benefits of corrective exercises in the recovery of injuries is well documented.

Having the use of a gym with cardiovascular and weights equipment for strengthening exercises is a huge benefit in injury rehabilitation.  The main benefit is the thorough assessment that the physiotherapist will do in order to determine whether a joint is hyper mobile (moves to much) or stiff due to either a joint restriction or tight soft tissues.

Once assessed the movement patterns can be rehabilitated so that the body functions correctly and prevents recurrence of injury.
