Know More Pain

We have learned a lot about pain in the last few years. Some of this knowledge is very new and not commonly known. The course that we have designed introduces some important scientific findings about how pain works.

During the five week course we explore and develop the understanding of pain science and why things hurt.

Persistent pain lasts longer than acute pain and does not indicate or correlate with tissue damage; basically the body’s pain system becomes over sensitive and out of proportion.

Research now shows that alongside support, education and exercise we can desensitize the pain system to “turn the volume” down, to improve the overall management of chronic pain; but unfortunately this does take a lot of time and effort.

The course is made up of 5 presentations; on Wednesdays 10am - 12pm or 2pm - 4pm (NHS only)

Sessions 1-4 run back to back and the 5th (review week) is completed approximately 6-8 weeks later.  We also review patients on a 1:1 basis 6 months later.

Week 1 & 2:

This new approach is no quick fix. However, we can help to guide and support you in the direction of a more manageable pain level and regain control.

This approach will NOT worsen your symptoms and it is likely that you have already exhausted many other routes that the NHS has to offer therefore you have nothing to lose and potentially LOTS to gain:
